The same rule is also applicable in Chrome's Incognito mode as well. But we have already listed the steps to disable it on your PC. And today, we will be showing you the steps to disable the Guest Mode in the Chrome browser.

We will be discussing two methods for the same. The first one involves the use of Command Prompt that only requires copy-paste of a single command, However, if you wish to know how this command actually works out, we'll be discussing that as well. Disable Chrome's Guest Mode via Command Prompt

  1. Launch the Command Prompt window as an administrator.
  2. Paste the below code in the command window and hit Enter:
  3. Close the Chrome browser and restart your PC. Relaunch Chrome and you'll find the Guest Mode option disabled in Chrome.

Using the Registry Editor

  1. Open the Run dialog box from the Start menu. Type in regedit and hit Enter.
  2. Copy-paste the below location in the Registry Editor's address bar:
  3. Once you're inside the Chrome folder, right-click in an empty region on the right side menu.
  4. Select New > DWORD(32-bit) Value. Name this registry as BrowserGuestModeEnabled.
  5. Double click this newly created registry and enter 0 in the Value Data field. Click OK to confirm your decision.
  6. Restart your PC and open the Chrome browser. You'll notice the Guest Mode will now have been disabled in Chrome.
  7. If you wish to revert back the changes, just change the value from 0 to 1 in the Value Data field of BrowserGuestModeEnabled registry.

Set up Kiosk Mode in Google Chrome Browser

To set up Kiosk Mode in Google Chrome, follow these steps-



1. Open the Google Chrome window on your computer.

2. Now, click on the User account icon on the upper left corner of the Chrome window, and then click on 'Add'.

4. Make sure, 'Create a desktop shortcut for this user' option is checked. Finally, click on 'Add' at the bottom right corner of the window, to complete the process.

5. A new Chrome browser window will be opened for the guest account. Close all Google Chrome windows which are already opened on your computer.

6. Now, go to the desktop and then right-click on the new chrome shortcut and then click on 'Properties'.

7. In the Properties window, go to the 'Shortcut' tab, then add '-kiosk' at the end of ‘Target‘.

8. Finally, click on 'Apply' and 'OK' to save the changes on your computer.

9. In case, if this hasn't worked out, copy this location and paste in ‘Target‘ in the Chrome browser Properties. Click on 'Apply' and 'OK' to save the changes on your computer.

10. Check if it is working or not. Otherwise, do the same thing as Step-7, but in the process, paste this location in ‘Target‘ of Chrome Properties.

That's it! Kiosk mode is set up of Google Chrome as once you open Chrome from this shortcut on your desktop, your access will be limited to that Chrome browser only.
